The problem
A shared BFSI codebase was running on Angular 5/7/8 across a dozen concurrent client engagements — every engagement blocked from newer Angular features and tooling, with no safe way to upgrade without risking delivery on any of them.
My role
Led the migration as Engineering Manager, COE UI — architected the phased upgrade path while growing the team to its current 34 engineers across Angular, Ionic, Flutter, iOS, and Android.
Approach
Phased the Angular 5/7/8 → 14/15 migration across all twelve engagements in parallel rather than sequentially, building CI/CD pipelines and a code-review, frontend-security, and QA practice from scratch alongside the migration itself — not as a follow-up project. FlutterFlow was brought in during this window too, taken from evaluation to permanent tooling across the mobile engineering practice.
Outcome
Zero delivery gap across any of the twelve concurrent engagements during the migration. The team now stands at 34 engineers across Angular, Ionic, Flutter, iOS, and Android.
