The problem

Remote channels such as mobile cheque deposit let customers transact from anywhere — which also makes it harder for a bank to tell a legitimate transaction from a fraudulent one. Banks needed a way to authorize transactions only from locations they trust.

My role

UI Lead & Architect — led the product’s UI and its architecture.

What it does

Part of VSoft’s Vantage suite, Geo-Tagging & Fencing validates where a transaction comes from before allowing it:

  • GPS fencing — tracks where a transaction originates and blocks access outside the defined zones.
  • IP address fencing — restricts access to authorized networks and detects VPN use.
  • Preference-based restrictions — institutions set their own boundaries, from a few meters to a few hundred.

The primary use case is cheque deposit security: spotting suspicious activity, rejecting unauthorized transactions, and reducing the regulatory risk of unauthorized access.
